A professional journalist since 1987, Marco Masetti was born in Cervia (Ravenna) on 30 March 1957. He has devoted more than forty years of his career to motorcycle journalism, becoming one of the most respected and influential voices in the field.
He began his career in 1982 as a contributor to Motosprint, producing feature articles, reports, long-distance ride accounts and road tests until 1985. He then joined the editorial team of In Moto, where he remained until 1995.
Since 1998, he has covered the MotoGP World Championship as a freelance journalist, collaborating with numerous leading Italian publications, including Motociclismo, In Moto, Motosprint, Riders, Due Ruote, Il Messaggero, Il Mattino and Motitalia.
Alongside his work in print journalism, he has built an extensive career in television. From 2001 to 2012 he worked with RAI, and since 2013 he has served as a commentator and analyst for RSI, the Swiss national broadcaster.
Throughout his career, he has published numerous books dedicated to the world of motorcycles for major publishing houses, including Edisport, Conti, Giunti, Le Lettere, Giorgio Nada and Minerva. His works have been translated and distributed in several countries, helping to promote motorcycle culture internationally.
From 1998 to 2019, he also wrote the celebrated Contromano column for Motosprint. Renowned for its direct, original and often unconventional style, the column became a benchmark for motorcycle enthusiasts. Over more than twenty years of publication, it surpassed one thousand editions, leaving a lasting mark on Italian motorcycle journalism.
